Humans
Humans are one of the dominant mortal races of Omniluxia, originating from the Zerywani Plains and spreading across nearly every continent except Polaria by around 7,000 BLC. Their history is tied to the Zerywani Twins, the struggle against the Old Dragkhans, and the rise of later human states such as the Eagelian Kingdom, Zani Empire, and Jarenam Empire.
Origins¶
The first attempt to create humans was made by Wishtheon around 51,000 BLC. Mother Earth interfered in order to protect her creations, and the failed result became the first goblins.
Human origins as a successful race came much later. Around 16,000 BLC, the Zerywani Twins learned from Wishtheon's failure and tricked Mother Earth into helping them create proto-humans: larger, longer-lived beings who were less fertile than modern humans. Around 15,000 BLC, the Zerywani Twins intervened again, and modern humans evolved from the proto-humans. This began the Great Human Migrations.
Biology¶
The timeline describes proto-humans as larger and longer-lived than modern humans, but less fertile. Modern humans appear to have traded some of that ancient size and lifespan for greater fertility and adaptability, allowing them to spread rapidly across Omniluxia.
Society¶
Human societies vary enormously. Early settlements rose near the Tetepic River around 7,500 BLC, while later humans established or contributed to civilizations across Luxterra, Morrigon, Arteonia, and other regions.
Humans became central to several major political traditions: the Geallian and Eagelian worlds, Baetepian civilization, Intermarenican city-states, Zainudian polities, and the Yarenamian slave-soldier order that produced Jarenam the Formidable.
History¶
Humans were created in the context of war against the Old Dragkhans. The Zerywani Twins also created the Victory Goddess to help humans destroy the Old Dragkhans, making human expansion part of a divine military project from the beginning.
By 7,000 BLC, modern humans had spread to all continents except Polaria. In later eras, human history became inseparable from the rise of kingdoms, calendars, faiths, empires, and rebellions. The foundation of the Sumunian or Eagelian Kingdom in 1 LC gave the world the Luxterran Calendar, while Zanis the Great later turned the Eagelian state into the Zani Empire.
