Sumun's Calendar, better known as the Luxterran Calendar, is the standard calendar used across Luxterra, Morrigon, and the game itself. It was introduced by Sumun the Great of the Eagelians and codified during his thirty-three-year reign.

After Sumun's death and the later rise of the Zani Empire, Zanis the Great edited the calendar by adding two months. Imperial expansion spread the system across both continents and to major trading partners, who adopted it largely for its accuracy.

Format

The modern Luxterran Calendar is divided into twelve months, called Lizani in Imperial Zani, which together form one year, or Wistem. Each month has roughly 23 to 31 days depending on whether it is a leap year.

Months of the Year

  • Zanisolizan - the first month and one of two months introduced by Zanis. By attaching his name to the year's beginning, Zanis sought immortality in the eyes of Wisheamu Wachumagel.
  • Cyrolizan - the second month and the other month added by Zanis. It honors Cyrogelos, his most loyal soldier, ensuring that Cyrogelos would accompany him in his eternal march.
  • Rigianolizan - the third month and the original first month. It was named for Wielkopan, whose celebration and birth fall on the Spring Equinox.
  • Denolizan - the fourth month and Sumun's original second month.
  • Darenolizan - the fifth month and Sumun's original third month.
  • Wisholizan - the sixth month and Sumun's original fourth month. It honors Wishtheon, whose emergence on the Summer Solstice is associated with a bountiful Geallian harvest.
  • Wanchionolizan - the seventh month and Sumun's original fifth month, the "Yellow Month" of long sunny summer days.
  • Shawanchionolizan - the eighth month and Sumun's original sixth month, the "Orange Month" marking the beginning of autumn.
  • Eaganolizan - the ninth month and Sumun's original seventh month. Naathran's ceremony during the Autumn Equinox helps families survive the winter.
  • Zawachionolizan - the tenth month and Sumun's original eighth month, the "Red Month" of late autumn.
  • Lubesolizan - the eleventh month and Sumun's original ninth month, the "Wolf Month," dedicated to Lupegen, a patron god of the Eageli Kingdom.
  • Wichanolizan - the twelfth month and Sumun's original tenth month. It belongs to Melodias, whose malevolent emergence on the Winter Solstice is met with sacrifice.

Political Meaning

The calendar is more than a way to track time. Sumun used it to organize royal authority, agricultural rhythm, and sacred observance. Zanis later used it to insert himself and Cyrogelos into the structure of time itself, turning an Eagelian invention into an imperial monument.
