Wishtheon
Wishtheon is one of the Four Great Gods and one of the most widespread primordial figures in Omniluxian religion. He is associated with the west, creation, ambition, agriculture, and the troubled early history of humanity and the goblins.
Western Great God¶
Wishtheon emerged through his Primordial Well in the West around 64,000 BLC. As one of the Four Great Gods, he survived into later religious traditions after many older Primordials had faded or entered eternal slumber.
Geallian, goblinic, and other traditions remember him under different names, including Haarus and related forms. This wide distribution reflects both his antiquity and his involvement in the origin stories of several peoples.
Failed Creation of Humanity¶
Around 51,000 BLC, Wishtheon attempted to create humans. Mother Earth, seeking to protect her own creations, sabotaged or disfigured the work. The result was the creation of the first goblins, who were cast away into the caves as demonic creatures.
This failure became one of the great examples later used by the Zerywani Twins. When they sought to create proto-humans much later, they learned from Wishtheon's mistake and tricked Mother Earth into assisting them instead of opposing the act.
Later Tradition¶
Zani traditions preserve the story of Zanis calling out to Wishtheon at the height of the empire. Load-tip lore also remembers Wishtheon urging Zanis to travel west and open his sealed Well, though the emperor never completed that invitation.
Within the Cult of Zanis, Wishtheon appears as Ceresia, a divine figure associated with culture and conversion. This adoption shows how the Zani world folded older gods into its imperial religious structure.
Legacy¶
Wishtheon stands at the crossroads of creation and failure. He is revered as a great western god, but his attempted creation of humanity also explains the origin of goblins and the later caution of the Zerywani. His sealed Well remained a theological possibility long after the Zanic Age began.
