Primordials

The Primordials, also called the Old Gods, are divine beings who emerged after the decline of the Kosmic beings. After the creation of the world, they shaped Omniluxia during the Omnic Age, preparing it for the later age of the Omniscients.

Most Primordials have faded into myth or entered eons-long slumber. The best-known are Stone Father and Mother Earth, who formed lands and created races such as the Dwarves and Elves.

Nature¶

Primordials are eldritch beings whose physical forms are limited only by their realm and purpose. They often appear as one of their subjects or creations, but those forms are masks for much older powers.

They are immortal and unending, though like the Kosmic beings before them they risk fading if forgotten by the world.

Domains¶

Each Primordial ruled or maintained a realm of Omniluxia, such as winds, sea, forest, mountains, stone, or earth. Their identities are tied to those domains. Stone Father is remembered through caves, mountains, metals, and dwarven ancestry; Mother Earth through forests, Elves, fertility, and the living world.

As the ages passed, many Primordials were forgotten even by their Omniscient successors. Others chose slumber, lamenting the end of their dominance.

History¶

• 100-20 million BLC - Kosmic beings decline and Primordials begin to emerge and reign.
• 33 million BLC - Mother Earth and Stone Father fully develop.
• 25 million BLC - Mother Earth creates the Elven race and the World's Lungs Forest.
• 23 million BLC - Stone Father creates the first Dwarves; the three pairs emerge from their caves and establish Srrorum, the Azari realm, and Anempanso. Copper Dwarves develop Donenforr, later adopted widely among dwarven peoples.
• 22 million BLC - Wishtheon's first attempt at creating humans is disfigured by Mother Earth, resulting in Goblins.
• 18 million BLC - Mother Earth creates the Zerywani Twins; the three demi-god dwarven pairs die; Srrorum, Azaria, and Skyreach collapse; Elven settlers create the Southern and Western Lungs Forests; Stone Father retreats into eternal slumber.
• 5 million BLC - the Zerywani Twins trick Mother Earth into helping create proto-humans; realizing her children will not dominate forever, Mother Earth joins Stone Father in eternal slumber.

Primordials are rated Level 5 in Development Rankings. They do not need mortal schools, and their magic can shape the world with ease.
