The Emergence
The Emergence, called To Komakkti in Srroskku, is the semi-mythical event that explains the beginning of the dwarven race. Each dwarven people preserves its own name and interpretation, but the core story remains recognizable across Silver, Gold, and Copper traditions.
The Myth¶
Chroniclers have reconstructed a shared version from recurring characters and events:
In the twilight of the age of the Primordials, Stone Father and Mother Earth felt loneliness as their brethren slowly disappeared. Mother Earth created her servants, the Elves, while Stone Father sought a proud race that could cement his legacy and inherit the world after the Primordials faded.
Stone Father fashioned three brothers and three sisters from clay mixed with silver, gold, or copper. When complete, the three demi-god pairs emerged from the depths of Omniluxia through three sacred caves.
The Three Pairs¶
- Htgarth and Ferja, the eldest and silver pair, emerged from the Silver Caves where Srrovikkabi now stands.
- Summsir and Ava, the middle and golden pair, emerged from the Gold Caves near modern Tiuban.
- Frei and Dwadais, the youngest and copper pair, emerged from the Copper Caves at modern Bad-Idna.
Together, they began the dwarven race.
The Dwarven Golden Age¶
Each pair conquered a homeland and led their people in worship of Stone Father alone:
- Htgarth and Ferja conquered the Green Valley and founded the first Kingdom of Srrorum.
- Summsir and Ava conquered the Iron Foothills and extended the realm remembered as the Azari Golden Kingdom.
- Frei and Dwadais conquered the Dwarven Grandlands and ruled Anempanso.
Their reigns produced the Dwarven Golden Age: great monuments, sacred cities, roads, writing systems, metalwork, and the early religious forms later remembered through the Old Father faiths.
Death and Aftermath¶
The demi-gods ruled their realms for thousands of years before dying. Their peoples returned them to the caves from which they emerged, where they became great stones of silver, gold, and copper and reunited with Stone Father.
Their deaths caused disputes over which pair were the true heirs of Stone Father. These conflicts weakened the dwarven world and allowed opportunistic peoples to invade or settle former dwarven lands. In Silver Dwarven memory, this marks the end of the Age of Dwarves and the beginning of long fragmentation.
