Ferja

Ferja, remembered in Silver Dwarven tradition as Ferja “tö Löbunttfjarr” or the Loving Mother, was the partner of Htgarth and the elder female figure of the three dwarven founding pairs. She is one of the ancestral founders of the Silver Dwarves.

The Emergence and Srrørum¶

According to The Emergence, the Stone Father created three pairs from clay mixed with precious metals. Ferja and Htgarth were the silver pair. They emerged from the Silver Caves, conquered the Green Valley, and founded the first Kingdom of Srrørum.

Silver Dwarven religious tradition emphasizes a duality between the pair. Htgarth is associated with urban projects and the works of the kingdom, while Ferja attended to rural peasants and serfs, ensured that none went hungry, and served as a midwife to expectant mothers. She was therefore revered as Htgarth’s equal rather than merely as his companion.

Death and veneration¶

Ferja and the other dwarven founders died when Old Dragkhans overwhelmed the Terran Coalition at the Battle of the Dragon’s Head. The collapse of their realms began the decline of the Dwarven Golden Age.

Her people returned her remains to the Silver Caves, where she became one of the Silver Stones. The caves remain sacred because of the founding pair’s emergence and burial, and honored Silver Dwarven heroes are laid to rest alongside them. Srrøhebrikk venerates Htgarth and Ferja as the true successors of the Stone Father.
