Order of Sennmoggen

The Order of Sennmoggen is a Silver Dwarven knightly order based at Srrøvikkabi, the holiest city of the Kingdom of Srrørum. The order guards the approaches to the sacred Silver Caves and is remembered throughout the Green Valley for producing some of its finest warriors.

Foundation and purpose

The order takes its name from the legendary Olltar “Sennmogg”, who founded Srrøvikkabi near the Silver Caves in order to defend the Silver Stones. Those stones are identified in Silver Dwarven tradition with Htgarth, Ferja, and the later heroes laid to rest beside them. Protection of the caves therefore carries both military and religious significance.

The order traditionally swore itself to the defense of the Silver Caves and the Duggmoggen Clan. Its knights consequently treated intervention in the disputes of other kingdoms as taboo, especially after the death of their patron, Hefdarr, and the dissolution of his united realm.

Knights and training

Sennmoggen knights are chosen from among the strongest and most intelligent young Silver Dwarves. Entire academies are devoted to preparing candidates for entry into the order. Their discipline and battlefield reputation made the Sennmoggen a model for later Silver Dwarven military traditions, which sought to spread their drills and methods beyond the order itself.

This martial culture reflects the harsher northern Green Valley. The Silver Mountains surrounding Srrøvikkabi are described as the valley’s most severe region, a landscape that fostered strong warriors and placed the order close to both its holy charge and the routes by which outsiders might approach it.

Campaign Profile

The Order is a current playable country under tag SV1, controlling five provinces from Srrøvikkabi. It is governed as a monastic order, making its sacred military identity part of the state itself rather than merely an order operating inside another kingdom.

Grand Master Gerrheltt is a fixed starting ruler, born in 980 LC. His authored attributes—Martial 13, Zeal 10, Charisma 4, and Finesse 1—make him an extraordinary warrior and religious leader but a poor administrator. He is prominent, trustworthy, skeptical, and righteous. The apparent tension between skepticism and immense zeal suits a commander devoted to an institution and its charge without being credulous in temperament.

The Order's population is recorded as entirely Anvindr, one of the three cultures in the Silver Dwarven group alongside the Dolin and Galmar. Its provinces follow Srrøhebrikk. Mountain and hill communities predominate, with a smaller farmland center around the capital; precious metals, grain, cinnabar, iron, and base metals sustain the country. This combination explains both the Order's fortified highland character and the material value of the sacred approaches it protects.

Its levy consists of 45% light infantry, 40% heavy infantry, and 15% light cavalry. The near balance between lighter and armored foot troops gives mechanical weight to the order's reputation for disciplined warriors, while cavalry remains a supporting arm in terrain dominated by mountains and hills.

The order in the present age

The order is led by Grand Master Gerrheltt “to Sott.” Although the Sennmoggen are traditionally isolationist, Gerrheltt has armed and drilled the knights more aggressively. This has reopened an old question: whether the caves are best protected by remaining outside the valley’s rivalries, by supporting a neighboring ruler, or by establishing direct control over the surrounding lands.

That tension places the order between its ancient oath and the politics of the Srrørum successor kingdoms. Its strength makes neutrality increasingly difficult, while its sacred responsibilities prevent it from becoming merely another army.
