Green Valley

The Green Valley, known in Srroskku as Gordal, is a series of valleys and hills near the center of Morrigon, between the Dragon's Back Mountains and the Vetalian Mountains. It is the homeland of the Silver Dwarves and the sacred heartland of the kingdoms of Srrorum.

Geography¶

The valley is both fertile and defensible. Mountains wall it off from surrounding peoples, while limited entrances make fortification central to Silver Dwarven strategy. Its isolation helped preserve Anvindr culture, but also encouraged internal rivalry between regional powers.

The valley's most important sacred site is the Silver Caves, where Htgarth and Ferja emerged in The Emergence and where later heroes were buried beside the Silver Stones.

Provinces¶

• Srrogerren - the northernmost part of the valley, known as the Silver Mountains. Its harsh climate fosters strong warriors such as the Order of Sennmoggen. It contains the sacred Silver Caves and notable Anvindr cities such as Gorgerrabi and Srrovikkabi.
• Mijadalenpi - the Central Valleys, the main agricultural heartland. It hosts trading and intellectual centers such as Jorrabi and Veddabi.
• Setgerrenpi - the Western Mountains, home to Hlivikkabi and the Western Gate. The Droi and Khundavl are infamous raiders and warriors who defend the valley from Forest Elves while also enslaving fellow Silver Dwarves for their armies. The region is also associated with the Gerrmoggen, wandering mountain mages who cause mischief in remote places.

Historical Role¶

The Green Valley was conquered by Htgarth and Ferja in the Mythic Age and became the core of the First Kingdom of Srrorum. Later, Hefdarr reunited the valley and created the Second Kingdom, preserving Anvindr independence against Zani pressure.

After Hefdarr's death in 669 LC, the valley fragmented again. The dream of restoring Srrorum remains one of the central ambitions of Silver Dwarven politics, especially for rulers who claim the title of Togg, or king.

Culture¶

The Green Valley's dominant culture is Anvindr, the Silver Dwarven culture of the valley. Its society is shaped by ancestral religion, mountain warfare, sacred burial traditions, and the tension between scholarly cities, fortified gates, and harsh upland communities.
