Hefdarr
Hefdarr Duggmoggen, remembered as Hefdarr "to Togg" or simply Hefdarr the King, was an Anvindr Silver Dwarf ruler who founded the Second Kingdom of Srrorum. His reign became the defining Silver Dwarven answer to late Zanic expansion.
Unification Wars¶
Approximate dates: c. 570–669 LC. His birth year is not preserved, but he was already able to ascend the throne and lead the Unification Wars in 602 LC. He died in 669 LC, after which the Second Kingdom of Srrorum dissolved into smaller realms.
Hefdarr ascended to the throne of Duggmannri in 602 LC and began the Unification Wars of the Anvindr Silver Dwarves. The goal was not merely personal conquest: the Silver Dwarves were entering a dangerous age in which the Zani Empire was reaching north and old client systems were beginning to strain.
By 610 LC, Hefdarr had formed the Second Kingdom of Srrorum. His unification gave the Silver Dwarves a central authority just before the Zani campaigns against Saptarum and Srrorum.
War Against the Zani¶
In 618 LC, a Zani expedition was sent from Rohevian Province, and the Zani governor of Morrigon demanded tribute from Saptarum. The demand was rejected, and war followed. In 620 LC, the Zani invaded Srrorum while Rohenoan and Rohevian client states rebelled and stopped paying tribute to the Zani Empire.
The decisive moment came in 621 LC at the Battle of Hlivikkabi, where the Zani retreated and never returned to Srrorum. The defeat helped end the Pax Zanica and encouraged further client-state rebellion, including among the Vetalians.
Death and Legacy¶
Hefdarr died in 669 LC. After his death, the Second Kingdom of Srrorum dissolved into several smaller kingdoms, showing how much of its unity had depended on his authority.
His legacy remained immense. He was the king who united the Anvindr Silver Dwarves, resisted the Zani at their imperial height, and briefly restored Srrorum as a major force. Later dreams of Srrorum's reformation drew on the memory of his achievement.
