Mega-Erpons

229 words·1 min read

The Mega-Erpons were immense reptiles that dominated the earliest natural history of Omniluxia. They belong to the Omnic Age, when the Kosmic Beings developed the world and the later races and civilizations had not yet appeared.

Place in Natural History

The Timeline describes the period from roughly 300 million to 100,000 BLC as an Age of Reptiles in which the Mega-Erpons reigned. By 100,000 BLC the first birds had appeared, while World Serpents and Old Dragons had evolved from older reptilian life.

Mega-Erpons therefore stand at the beginning of the draconic and serpentine sequence. They were not an empire, culture, or divine order. The surviving account treats them as ancient creatures shaped within the world developed by the Kosmic Beings and as predecessors to lineages that later became central to Mythic Age history.

Legacy

The Mega-Erpons matter because so many later terrors and sacred beings descend from the reptilian deep past. World Serpents, Old Dragons, serpentine peoples, draconic races, and later dragon-kin all exist in a world whose oldest great animals were Mega-Erpons.

Limits of the Record

No surviving wiki account describes individual Mega-Erpon species, societies, or named figures. Their importance is chronological and ancestral.
