Dragons

Dragons are an ancient draconic race created during the Great Primordial War from the lineage of the Old Dragons. The Timeline distinguishes these modern Dragons from both the older Old Dragons and the Old Dragkhans created in the same transformation.

Origin¶

The Old Dragons served the Lord of the Winds in the Sky Empire. When their war against the Terran Coalition turned against them, the Lord of the Winds used his own essence to save his servants. The act produced the Old Dragkhan race and modern Dragons, began the decline of the Old Dragons, and placed the Lord of the Winds into eternal slumber.

The resulting Old Dragkhan victory at the Battle of the Dragon’s Head ended the Dwarven and Serpentine Golden Ages. Dragons thus emerged at a turning point between Primordial rule and the long struggles of the later mortal races.

Later lineages¶

By roughly 25,000 BLC, Wyrms had developed from modern Dragons on Arteonia. They dominated the island and exterminated its settlements until later human history.

Around 18,000 BLC, Udanalankar, remembered as the Last of the Dragons, foresaw the future dominance of humanity. He used his blood to create the modern Dragkhanic race in the Dragon Mountains and led it on a Grand Exodus toward the Zainddian Steppes. The modern Dragkhans therefore trace their origin to Dragons but are not identical to the Old Dragkhans of the Primordial War.

Historical role¶

Dragon history connects several otherwise separate ages of the wiki: the reptilian natural history of the Mega-Erpons, the Old Dragon pact with the Lord of the Winds, the destruction caused by the Old Dragkhans, the Wyrms of Arteonia, and the eventual rise of modern Dragkhan peoples.

The surviving wiki material emphasizes this ancestry and chronology more than the society of Dragons themselves. No modern Dragon kingdom or detailed Dragon culture is currently described.
