Dragkhans

254 words·1 min read

The Dragkhans are one of the oldest races in Omniluxia, descended from dragons and tied to the long history of the Dragon Mountains, the Zainddian Steppes, Morrigon, and the Soventeir Empire.

Origins

Around 18,000 BLC, Udanalankar, Last of the Dragons, received a vision of humanity's future dominion. He used his blood to create the modern Dragkhans on the Dragon Mountains and led them on a Grand Exodus to the Zainddian Steppes, where they would be protected from other races.

This origin places Dragkhans between dragon ancestry and mortal politics. They are not simply humans with scales, but a people born from draconic blood and strategic withdrawal.

Biology

Modern Dragkhans resemble hominids more than dragons, but their culture is widely regarded as cruel and violent, preserving something of their draconic roots. Their lineage also connects them to older draconic and Old Dragkhan histories.

Society

Dragkhanic clans of southern Morrigon rose to power under the Soveneria clan, which exploited Marshlander unrest to invade the Nazani province of Kainaxarthos. Under Uttarasmake the Great, declared Qhan in 868 LC, the Sovenerians embraced Helluvianism and Geallian Kainaxari culture.

This transformation let the Sovenerians claim to be legitimate heirs of the Zani Empire, despite their Dragkhanic origins. Their realm remains one of Morrigon's great powers.
