Uttarasmake the Great
Uttarasmake the Great was the Qhan who united the Sovenerians and founded the Soventeir Empire. He ascended in 868 LC, ruled in the image of the old Zani emperors, and accelerated the Zanicization and Helluvianization of the Dragkhanic tribes.
Founder of the Soventeir Empire¶
Approximate dates: c. 835–902 LC. The records do not preserve his birth year; this estimate places it a generation before his accession in 868 LC. He died in 902 LC, by which time the Soventeir Empire had become a major power.
Uttarasmake rose during a period when the Nazani were struggling with Marshlander and Borderlander revolts and the Razani were fighting to hold the remnants of their old imperial world. In 868 LC he became Qhan of the Sovenerians and founded the Soventeir Empire.
His rule deliberately imitated Zani imperial models. The timeline states that he ruled like a Zani emperor and greatly promoted the Zanicization of the Sovenerians, giving his Dragkhanic empire a claim to imperial continuity despite its non-Geallian origins.
War and Diplomacy¶
In 870 LC, Uttarasmake defeated hostile Dragkhanic Yarenamian tribes. He sold survivors to the Razani Empire, who used them as slave soldiers in Bhaxnmrechtem because of manpower shortages. This transaction improved relations with the Razani, rivals of the Nazani, and connected Soventeir expansion to the later development of frontier military systems.
The Soventeir Empire under Uttarasmake became one of the forces reshaping southern Morrigon, especially as Nazani influence south of the Marshlands weakened.
Conversion¶
In 874 LC, Uttarasmake converted to Helluvianism and promoted the faith throughout his empire. The same period saw Helluvianism spread to the Ytalians, showing how religious change crossed former Zani political boundaries.
Uttarasmake died in 902 LC. By then, the Soventeir Empire had become a major power, and Central Intermarenica was slipping from Razani control as Helluvian forces gained ground.
Legacy¶
Uttarasmake's legacy is the creation of a Dragkhanic imperial state that claimed Zani inheritance while embracing Helluvian faith. Later descriptions of the Soventeir as legitimate heirs of the Zani world depend heavily on the political and religious synthesis he began.
