Old Dragons

The Old Dragons were an ancient draconic people descended from the reptilian life of the Omnic Age. The Timeline places their emergence alongside the World Serpents, after the age in which the Mega-Erpons dominated Omniluxia.

The Servant’s Pact¶

In 69,870 BLC the Old Dragons entered the Servant’s Pact with the Lord of the Winds, also remembered as Daeyr. They pledged themselves to him in exchange for intelligence and the completion of their dominion over the skies. The pact made them the servants and principal people of a Primordial power.

The Old Pantheon preserves a later religious memory of this relationship. Its worshippers remember Daeyr as ruler of the Old Dragons and master of both gentle winds and destructive storms.

The Sky Empire¶

When Melodias encouraged the Lord of the Winds to conquer the lands below the sky, the Old Dragons and their master formed the Sky Empire. They fought the Terran Coalition of Mother Earth, the Stone Father, and their children in the Great Primordial War.

After roughly a millennium of war, the Sky Empire lacked the numbers to defeat the Elves and Dwarves. To preserve his servants, the Lord of the Winds used his own essence in a transformation that produced the Old Dragkhans and modern Dragons, while beginning the decline of the Old Dragons. He then entered an eternal slumber.

Decline and memory¶

The new Old Dragkhan hordes won the Battle of the Dragon’s Head and shattered the Terran Coalition, but their victory did not restore the Old Dragons to their former position. The transformation marked the end of Old Dragon dominance and the beginning of later draconic peoples.

Old Dragons survive in the historical and religious memory of Goblins and followers of the Old Pantheon. The wiki does not describe a surviving Old Dragon state in the modern age.
