Sea Serpents

Sea Serpents are an ancient serpentine people of Omniluxia’s seas. The surviving wiki places them within the broader family of serpentkind associated with the World Serpents and the Ular-Pria, but does not preserve a complete account of their society.

Serpentine ancestry¶

The oldest reptilian history begins with the Mega-Erpons, followed by the emergence of World Serpents and Old Dragons. Later serpentine peoples regarded the World Serpents as ancestors and models of a lost heroic age. Sea Serpents belong to this wider tradition, though the wiki does not state precisely when they separated from other serpentkind.

The Ular-Pria are the best-documented surviving Serpent People. Their civilization occupied the Central Omniluxian Sea and the Austropetolian Archipelago before the Great Collapse, after which their empire was reduced to rival cities and scattered tribes. Sea Serpents are listed separately from the Ular-Pria, so the two names should not be treated as interchangeable.

Relationship with other peoples¶

Snakefolk traditions regard the rarely seen Sea Serpents as a brother-race, since both claim descent from the World Serpents. This establishes kinship within serpentine belief, but the existing wiki does not describe political institutions, settlements, rulers, or a shared Sea Serpent state.

The Austropetolians, or Naga, occupy another distinct place in the same region: they descend from human slaves of the former Ular-Pria Empire and are neither Sea Serpents nor Ular-Pria.

Limits of the surviving account¶

No existing article records Sea Serpent government, lifecycle, language, magical development, or modern political role. Those subjects remain unresolved rather than being inferable from Ular-Pria or Naga society. What can be stated securely is that Sea Serpents are rare, maritime, recognized as a separate race, and linked by tradition to the World Serpents.
