Ular-Pria
The Ular-Pria are the Snakefolk of the Austropetolian Isles and the heirs of the old Ular-Pria Empire. Their civilization was devastated by the Great Collapse, but their rival cities, island kingdoms, and secretive magical societies continue to shape the Austropetolian Archipelago.
Biology¶
Current wiki sources preserve little detailed biology beyond their identity as Serpent People or Snakefolk. They are closely associated with the Snake Isles, deep cave networks, and the inter-island societies that survived the collapse of their empire.
Society¶
Ular-Pria society is politically fragmented but commercially resilient. Snakefolk cities grow rich on diamonds drawn from deep cave systems, sugarcane latifundia, and silk. Foreign merchants still visit their markets despite fear of the Snakefolk, while Nagarajian mercenaries are hired in local wars.
Their rulers include kings, chiefs, and city elites who compete for supremacy across the archipelago. Political legitimacy often depends on restoring lost imperial glory or fulfilling prophecies of reunification.
The War of the Snakes¶
The Great Collapse sent ruinous tsunamis through the Central Omniluxian Sea and wrecked much of Snakefolk civilization. The once-mighty Ular-Pria Empire was reduced to two major rivals: the seat of Mignadg and the capital of the Euryalid Kingdom on Kraklaz.
These powers fought the brutal War of the Snakes, remembered abroad as one of the bloodiest conflicts ever waged among the Ular-Pria. The prize was supremacy over the Austropetolian Archipelago. A prophesied king may yet reunite the scattered tribes into a restored Empire of the Ular-Pria.
Magical Affinity¶
Current development notes rate the Ular-Pria at Level 3 in Development Rankings, with a 13.5 total and a 4/3/3/3 profile.
Their mana stores are naturally low, comparable to the Silver and Gold Dwarves, and their society tends to value physical power over public spellcasting. Even so, dedicated Snakefolk have created secret schools and techniques that operate in the shadows.
Magicians are often employed by kings or chiefs as soothsayers or displays of power, but few serve large governments directly. Most prefer their own magical communities, which function as secret inter-island societies.
Cultures and Figures¶
The current wiki preserves only fragmentary notes for specific Ular-Pria cultures and figures. The War of the Snakes, Mignadg, Kraklaz, and the Euryalid Kingdom are the clearest anchors for future expansion.
