O-Peliaz

269 words·1 min read

O-Peliaz was a Helluvian Yvius, civic founder, militia organizer, and martyr of Kainaxarthos. Born in 710 LC, he became one of the most important leaders of persecuted Helluvian communities under Nazani pressure.

Yvius in Kainaxarthos

O-Peliaz lived during the early Post-Zanic Age, when the Nazani Empire was losing and regaining control over its frontier provinces while Helluvianism spread among Kainaxari and other communities. In 732 LC he was sanctioned as a Yvius and sent to aid persecuted Helluvians in Kainaxarthos.

Two years later, in 734 LC, he founded Bubdonno as a settlement for Helluvian refugees and served as its first mayor. This made him both a religious figure and a civic founder.

Militia and Uprising

In 738 LC, Nazani soldiers entered Bubdonno, cracked down on Helluvians, and blinded prisoners. O-Peliaz organized a militia to defend the city. The militia defeated the local Nazani forces, and the uprising spread beyond Bubdonno as Holy Militias appeared across Kainaxarthos.

O-Peliaz was captured and crucified in 745 LC. His death did not end the unrest. Instead, Holy Militias continued to disrupt Nazani rule in the region until the later Soventeir invasions changed the balance of power.

Legacy

Helluvian memory preserves O-Peliaz as both a mayor and a martyr: a founder who built refuge before he became a symbol of resistance. His story also explains why Kainaxarthos became one of the pressure points where Nazani imperial authority, Helluvian expansion, and local militia politics collided.
