Peaceful Valley

The Peaceful Valley, known in Gnomish tradition as Jaaltuvesk, is a historic homeland of the Kinones and the mythic birthplace of the Gnomes. It lies in Luxterra, distinct from the Green Valley of the Silver Dwarves in Morrigon.

A Valley Remembered by Two Peoples¶

Kinone tradition remembers the valley as a place of clans, city-states, and philosophical faith centered on Kon. The Kino sages describe the valley through the idea of a person's way, spirit, and moral conduct, while the Timeline places its ages among the oldest surviving human chronologies.

Gnomish tradition tells a different but connected story. Around 20,000 BLC, Wielkopan created the Gnomes to live with him in Jaaltuvesk. After the Great Sin, many Gnomes were driven north into Horteon and Polaria, where the memories of the warmer homeland became the foundation of later exile traditions.

Place in the Present¶

The valley is important even where its modern political borders are uncertain. It links Kinone religion, Gnomish origin stories, Wielkopan's divine history, and the eastern migration routes described across Luxterra. Treat references to Jaaltuvesk as references to this Peaceful Valley, not to the unrelated Green Valley.
