Opens a short guide explaining how characters learn magic, how formal magic academies work, and how special spells are unlocked.

Opening the magic menu

Use the Magic button on a character to open that character's spell options. The menu can show personal casting, selecting one of your mages to cast on a target, army empowerment, siege magic, and formal study depending on context.

Learning magic

Characters learn through the Study Magic flow, usually from a Magic Academy. A character chooses a school, learns beginner and intermediate spells through academies, and can later seek advanced or master spellbooks from a Mage Tower.

Schools and tiers

Omniluxia uses Omnic, Aldic, Amten, Melodian, and Folk magic. Spell options only appear when the caster knows the spell, has enough mana, and meets the target conditions. Beginner, intermediate, advanced, and master spell purchases use the costs shown in the city spellbook menus.

Mana and cooldowns

Casting spends mana. The spell menu displays mana requirements through tooltips, and spells have cooldowns by tier: beginner spells are quicker, while higher-tier and special magic take longer before they can be used again.

Mana-focused character schemes and spellcasting actions are covered in Character Interactions, including Scheme: Mana, Cast Offensive Spells, Cast Plant Growth, and Summon Dryads. If a mana scheme or spell option is missing, check the character's magic training, available mana, cooldowns, and target conditions.

Cities and spellbooks

Magic Academies unlock study and lower-tier spell purchases. Mage Towers require stronger magical infrastructure and offer advanced or master spellbooks for schools the character already knows.
