Amten

Amten is the broad magical style concerned with physical matter, the elements, and living nature. It is described as the most common of the principal Magic Styles, encompassing practices as different as mineral detection, irrigation, plant growth, battlefield winds, and magical construction.

Elementalists¶

Elementalists manipulate stone, minerals, wind, and terrain. Detect Minerals helps reveal or exploit mineral wealth, while its stronger form can temporarily increase the production of metal provinces. Winds of Pedentrutzu attacks an enemy army, and Rock Slide turns the landscape itself into a weapon. Advanced elemental practice can summon earthworks and transform provincial defenses and infrastructure.

Druids¶

Druidic Amten magic acts on plants, forests, fertility, and natural beings. Plant Growth improves plant-based production, while Nature’s Bounty strengthens food supply, fertility, and stability. Druids may also summon Dryads or create conditions in which a forest assists warriors and settlements.

Stone Magic¶

The Stone Magic Academy applies Amten principles to building and shaped rock. Earthsculpt reduces the difficulty of construction for a ruler or governor, while denser stone can be used offensively against a target. The school demonstrates the connection between physical magic and state development.

Character of the style¶

Amten contains both productive and destructive practices. The same command of physical reality that irrigates land or raises buildings can collapse stone onto soldiers or direct violent winds. Its breadth explains both its frequency and its importance outside specialized magical institutions.
