Omnic
Omnic magic is a high magical style associated with raw light, divine force, exorcism, protective barriers, and large-scale destructive power. The notes preserved here describe spell concepts and academy variants used by different magical traditions.
Core Themes¶
Omnic practice emphasizes radiant energy and spiritual authority. Its effects include energy beams, shields, light walls, curse-breaking, exorcism, and battlefield-scale attacks. It therefore sits close to the boundary between ordinary magic, religious power, and mythic force.
Because some Omnic effects can kill characters, destroy armies, or devastate provinces, the style belongs among the most dangerous magical disciplines.
Schools and Academies¶
- Diviner - energy beams, shields on retinues, large blasts, light walls, and province defensiveness.
- Hierophant - exorcism, divine words, instant destruction of Melodian beings, Wielkopan's blessing, and eyes of the twin gods.
- Magonis Academy - summoned light wolves and large beasts for battlefield use.
- Helluvius Academy - curse destruction and blessings that protect against curses.
- Taanka Academy - giant-form magic and retinue encasement.
- Dragonscale Academy - personal and army-wide protection against magic attacks.
Historical Context¶
Omnic magic is best read beside the history of organized magical schools. Magonis the Wise founded the first Magic Guild and a summoning school in 518 LC, but after the Great Collapse, magic was banned by both Razani and Nazani successor states. Styles like Omnic explain why rulers feared magical institutions: their power could defend cities, kill armies, or repeat catastrophic mistakes.
