The Blood-Stained Faith
The Blood-Stained faith is the dark religion of the Drow, carried up from the deep caverns of eastern Luxterra during their wars of conquest. It is a faith of blood, domination, and survival beneath the shadow of Melodias.
Beliefs¶
The Blood-Stained pantheon governs the familiar domains of Drow life through gods of War (Eteus), Culture (Dhilotl), Fertility (Godur), Economy (Phamir), and other powers. Its rites are steeped in blood and conquest.
To outsiders, the faith appears monstrous. To the Drow, it gives divine order to a people shaped by curse, cave exile, and centuries of violence.
Spread¶
As the Drow erupted from the mountains to overrun the tribes of the Norrfalian Sea, Blood-Stained beliefs spread far beyond their original borders. During the Herulian civil wars, many desperate Norrfalians, unprotected by weakened Balthazarian knights, adopted the faith of the very Drow who ravaged their lands.
The timeline records that after the Battle of Dalskiaengd in 993 LC, northern tribes converted to Blood-Stained following Drow victories over the weakened order and its allies.
Legacy¶
Blood-Stained is one of the clearest examples of conquest spreading religion through fear as much as persuasion. It survives because it offers power to those abandoned by old protectors, even when that power is tied to the enemies who destroyed them.
