Stellaric (The Fallen Star Pantheon)
The Stellaric faith is the star-worship of the peoples of Northstar Bay, centered on the luminous Visitors who fell from the sky. It is the religion of the Star Lords.
The Fallen Stars¶
The pantheon is a family of celestial deities, chief among them the fallen star Szing-Szing, attended by his kin:
- Ye-Liang - patroness of the moon, once wife of Ri-Szing, who faithfully reflects his light to stay connected to him.
- Ri-Szing - the morning star, said to be the sun itself; brilliant but lonely, for no other star shines when he is out.
- Yow-Pin - patroness of medicines, who nursed Szing-Szing back to health when he fell from the sky and later married him, though she was banished when her offspring were seen as monsters.
Origin¶
It is believed that long ago strange Visitors arrived in a falling star from the east that crashed into the bay. The luminous beings who emerged from the waters taught the Stellarics their faith and built them cities and castles.
One later historical account gives a more specific version: a comet fell into Northstar Bay, and strange survivors taught local tribes their religion and ways. Whether these Visitors were gods, survivors, or something else remains the mystery at the heart of Stellaric belief.
Legacy¶
Stellaric religion blurs the line between divinity and arrival. Like the Zorg, the Visitors raise the question of what lies beyond Omniluxia, but unlike the Zorg, they became gods, teachers, and founders of civilization.
