Aneic

Aneic represents the beliefs of the Wood Elves, centered on worship of the forest and Mother Earth, known to them as Cafea. The faith teaches the Oneness of Nature and encourages ceremonies beneath the canopy rather than inside temples of stone.

Beliefs and Traditions¶

Aneids are traditionally pacifists who fight only defensive wars. However, Wood Elven tribes preserve a wide variety of beliefs, and some cults emphasize particular divine aspects, practices, or local traditions.

Most deities are Idrasil, aspects of Mother Cafea that preside over specific areas of everyday life. The great forest at the heart of Mother Earth is both sacred place and living theology.

The major divine branches include:

• Cafea - the eternal spirit of Mother Nature.
• Gorcaetha - the destroyer aspect.
• Nellathir - the three-faced woman of sadness, wrath, and fear.
• Lavas - the animal woman, embodying animal savagery.
• Ithilgrau - lord of the Fai.
• Bainthal - the good lord.
• Othovor - the bad lord.
• Cuithcovada - the life-bringer aspect.
• Emildar - mother and patron of births.
• Thanda - shield woman of protection and defense.
• Cuima - animal man, god of the wild.
• Galada - god of trees.
• Athaea - goddess of medicine, healing, and tea.
• Adaralu - god of harvest, luxury, and wealth.
• Fealf - the soul.
• Hetnel - three-eyed lady of feelings, emotions, and desires.
• Istrilneth - god of knowledge, learning, coffee, and tapestries.
• Tor - god of inner strength and discipline.
• Kurucuru - god of mana.
• Savelora - god of faith.

Legacy¶

Aneic faith preserves Forest Elven closeness to the World's Lungs Forest, the cycle of life and tree-transformation, and the older worship of Mother Earth under the name Cafea.
