Aentora

257 words·1 min read

The Aentoran faith is the dualistic religion of the peoples of Marrenica, centered on the eternal balance between the twin deities of life and death. It remembers humanity as a chosen people delivered from monsters by divine kingship.

The Twin Deities

  • Aentora - the Goddess of Life, creator and patron of man. For the good of all men she sent the Everything-King, Kulnnona, to drive the monstrous Muerthans out of Marrenica and establish the homeland of her chosen people, the Aentora-Torr.
  • Muerthos - the God of Death, the opposing twin of Aentora. Feared by men yet acknowledged as a necessary balance to the life-giving goddess, he remains the primary antagonist to humanity.

The Everything-King

Kulnnona, the Everything-King, is revered as the rightful ruler of Man and of the conquered homeland of Marrenica. Under his rule the beastly Muerthans were defeated and driven to the far reaches of Marrenica, where they were hunted to extinction by his descendants.

The myth gives Aentoran kingship a sacred shape. Rule is justified not merely by inheritance, but by participation in Kulnnona's work: making a safe human homeland out of a world threatened by monstrous powers.

Legacy

Aentora is both a creation faith and a political memory. It explains why Marrenican peoples understand life, death, kingship, and homeland as inseparable themes. Its dualism is not abstract philosophy; it is the story of humans surviving under the protection of life against the pressure of death.
