Sertem Family History

Working draft for playable deceased ancestry in Imperator. The aim is that a player can open Ara Sertem, follow deceased parents backward through the House of Sertem, and ultimately reach Srandenr Sertem, the admiral rewarded by Zanis the Great with the governorship of Baetep around 58 LC.

Dates are LC. People marked canon are named in the wiki, timeline, or current character setup. People marked bridge are invented to fill plausible dynastic gaps.

House of Sertem¶

The Sertem line began as a Zanic-appointed governorship over conquered Baetep. Srandenr Sertem was not a native Pharon, but a loyal admiral whose usefulness to Zanis became the foundation of a durable colonial house. Over the centuries, his descendants entrenched themselves in Baetepian administration, survived the weakening of the Zani and Razani empires, and eventually became strong enough to rule Baetep in their own name.

This line is intentionally direct and readable for the in-game family view: one principal heir per generation, with spouses included so Ara's ancestry looks like a lived dynasty rather than a bare list of officeholders.

The implemented game-file chain lives in 00_EGY.txt.

Implementation Notes¶

1. The ancestry belongs in 00_EGY.txt, because Baetep's game tag is EGY.
2. The direct playable path is father-line readable: Ara -> Sran -> Therapon ->... -> Srandenr.
3. Consorts are included for every generation, using Phrytherian/Phanician cultural names from the mod culture file.
4. The whole line uses family = c:EGY.fam:Sertem, culture="phrytherian", and religion="the_first_emperor".
5. The founder and direct male line should carry add_trait="sertem" so the bloodline identity is visible in character history.
6. Dates are intentionally regular, roughly one generation every thirty-one years, because this chain is primarily for in-game readability and dynastic continuity rather than a complete gubernatorial regnal list.
